Coastal Connection operates year round from our bases in Terra Nova National
Park (May - Oct) and the beautiful community of Petley, Smith Sound, Random
Island (Oct - May).
In Terra Nova National Park, you can find us adjacent to the Park's
beautiful Visitor Centre premises at Salton's Brook.
Newfoundland and Labrador
Newfoundland and Labrador lies between the 46th and 61st parallels with the
bulk of the island portion being below the 50th parallel. The island is
located in the Gulf of St. Lawrence and the larger Labrador portion is on
the eastern part of the Canadian mainland.
Terra Nova National Park
Terra Nova National Park is Canada's most easterly national park. With its
natural beauty and abundant wildlife, Terra Nova National Park offers a wide
variety of activities, and has something for everyone. After enjoying one of

Getting to Newfoundland and Labrador
Newfoundland is accessible via:
- Marine Atlantic's Ferry Service from North Sydney, Nova Scotia to Port-aux-Basques, Newfoundland or Argentia, Newfoundland.
- Several major airports, with the larger being St. John’s, Gander (central) and Deer Lake (west coast). St. John’s is serviced by Air Canada and several regional airlines, as well as some international carriers.
Getting to Terra Nova National Park
Coming from St. John’s
- From St. John's, head west on the Trans Canada Highway. Pass the
town of Clarenville, and Port Blandford. Shortly after passing Port
Blandford you will enter Terra Nova National Park.
- Shortly after entering the Park, you will begin to see signs
directing you to the Visitor Centre at Salton's Brook. Pay attention to
these signs, as Coastal Connections is located at the Visitor Center.
- The Visitor Center is located approx 20 minutes inside the park, and
its "turn off" is on the right hand side. When you see the exit sign, do be
careful on the turn off, as the turn is shaper than it first appears.
- Follow the road down to the Visitors Center to the parking lot. Park
your vehicle and come visit us at the Coastal Connections Kiosk.
Coming from the West
- After passing Glovertown, you will then enter Terra Nova National
Park, and you will begin to see signs directing you to the Visitor Center at
Salton's Brook. Pay attention to these signs, as Coastal Connections is
located at the Visitor's Center.
- The Visitor Center is located approx 10 minutes inside the park, and
its "turn off" will be on the left hand side.
- Follow the road down to the Visitors Center to the parking lot. Park
your vehicle and come visit us at the Coastal Connections Kiosk.
